Fourteen33 is formed by Mat Hayward-Hill and Rupert Wilson, close friends and colleagues for nearly 20 years. Individually and together they have managed environments with over 50,000 databases.
From large companies with critical environments such as RBS, Barclays Capital, Fidelity, Deutsche Bank, British Airways, GLG Partners to smaller companies with single SQL Server Instances.
Rupert has worked with Microsoft SQL Server since 1998 predominantly in the Financial Services Industry.
He has worked in companies being the sole DBA, to being part of teams with 40+ DBAs located in various countries across the globe.
Not only has Rupert sat alongside the application and business teams/managers he has supported in highly pressurised environments but he has collaborated with, and built good working relationships without ever meeting clients face to face.
Rupert, in his free time, spends several hours a week as a taxi service to his daughter and son who participate in a variety of sports including competitive swimming.

Mat has over 17 years DBA experience focused on Microsoft SQL Server.
Mat has been a production DBA supporting critical trading environments, to being a business aligned project DBA working with developers on design and delivery of key systems.
He has liaised directly with heads of department and traders and thrives in high pressure situations.
Mat holds a kettlebell certification and is kept on his toes by his three daughters.
